This is all so true!
I think we all know some who just don't fit in. . .and they may, indeed, repel us too. But our job is to love our neighbors, and we must pray on that and seek to do God's will. I think if Christianity had been following Jesus's example of sacrificial love instead of ramming holier-than-thou beliefs down people's throats, the world would be a far better place. In fact, it would probably be unrecognizable!
