This was very well written. I can't remember how I got on Blogit, but I initially thought it would be to toss my poetry out there to leave my family alone. lol But I have found my greatest role is support for other writers. I would never have guessed that my purpose in life, service to others, would bring me such great reward. I have been endowed with so many dear friends. I am speaking with a couple of bloggers currently to organized a rendezvous this September or October. I think it will be great fun. So, like your articles says, it is a great place to be.
Also, your memory serves you correctly. Each line is a first line from different poets. I have the poets' work cited in blog as well. Just way out there somewhere!

Interesting, clear, to the point! And you are absolutely right about Blogit: when I joined, I thought it was just about the writing, but then I discovered that it was also about the socializing. I hadn't
at all been interested in the latter, though I was looking for serious
debate. There ain't much of that to be had here, but instead I have found a great deal of creative energy, people whose talents stimulate me, your blogs being a prime example of that! I have found people whom I genuinely like, people like you whom I have come to see as friends, though we may never meet! I feel at home here, even if I don't get as much writing done as I should...
