Norwood, your poor son didn't get into some poison ivy (or equivalent) did he?  I don't know what you have there in your neck of the woods, but if he were here I would find out where he played because poison ivy is alive and well here, and just waiting for someone to venture near.

Morning Mal

Yes, we are going to the Royal Children's in Melbourne as soon as he wakes up this morning and has a bit of brakfast. Two GPs have said 'Oh it's just a rash' but I am very concerned now as it is not better and it looks not nice at all. It is sort of raised welts that he is scratching madly and I am not happy at all with the look of it.

It is almost acne like in appearance and a clump of raised lumps down at his lower back and up around his shoulders and neck and behind his ears. It has spread to behind his knees and is in his armpits and on his chest with even one or two on his face. It blanches and disappears when pressed but presents as red and angry looking and very very itchy.

I hope you took Nir to the specialist
My son came back from a class trip to Israel with Scarlet Fever - which is a form of Streph. He coudln't MOVE for days - high fever, etc. And the rash was all over his body and NASTY. After 2 days on antibiotics, it began clearing. Don't mess around with this - and report back soon.
