It's not just the 'religious right.'
It's all brands of people.
68% of Americans, according to Gallup.
The Senate passed the ban 64-34 (64.5%) and the House passed the same measure by 281-142 (64.5%). The Congress is not marked by a 64.5% majority. Many liberals voted their convictions as well.

Don't Sweat the Uninformed Repukes Below, Dude
The American Pediatrics Association is on your side in this debate. The religious right (which is spiritually wrong) can't seem to see facts that oppose their limited, narrow, rights-killing viewpoints. They spew their garbage, then shut their already manure-coated ears.
I recommend to the bigots (read: Bush supporters and fundie Christians) to go to the NARAL website and the APA website and get informed. Then put down the high-powered rifles and the bibles and realize this is NOT a black and white issue (a worldview all too often embraced by your kind), but a heavily gray area, one that must be allowed full debate. Hopefully Bush's fascistic ban will be found unconstitutional (it is inevitable it will go before the Supreme Court) and overturned.

Among a torrid of accusations and name calling...
You fail to mention that a provision for the life of the Mother is in the Bill that passed through the Senate by a 2-1 margin. Hey, by the way, Republicans don't hold a 2-1 margin in the Senate. Hmmm. So it wasn't just the Facist, Right-Wing, Freedom-Stealing, Blah, Blah, Blah.
Now, please give me one example of when the health of the mother is in danger if she doesn't have a partial birth abortion. You cannot.
If her life is in danger the baby can be taken out (delivered). But the baby need not be killed on the way out to save the life of the mother. The baby is taken out either way. Partial Birth Abortion kills the baby. Taking the baby out and nurturing the baby doesn't, the result for the mother is the same. The resulting consequence for the baby is not.
You are promoting the hatred of abortion, and a 'culture of death.'
Bush, the Congress and the Senate are promoting the welfare of babies, a 'culture of life.'

SpyInTheSky, The Democratic Party Is The Party Of Slavery, Jim Crow Laws,
racial segregation of public schools in the South, traitors who handed over US nuclear weapons secrets to the Soviets back in the early 1950s, the white mobs that lynched an untold number of blacks from the end of slavery all the way up to the 1960s, the welfare state that emerged in the 1960s and which has caused much of black society to be overly dependent on government handouts, and I could go on for pages.
And, now, here you are defending that party while it works to commit one more crime against Americans; helpless unborn Americans.
The Democratic Party -- the party that you obviously support -- is, and always has been, America's greatest enemy.

(tearing my hair out at what the views reflected in this blog)
yeah, I agree with part of that last line...but I'd change it to say "if judicial activism continues, there may be no more rights for the helpless among us, from the unborn to the Terri Schiavos of the world."
