Comments on AN USUAL REQUEST FROM A BLOGGER

We certainly do benefit from the experiences of others.

I believe in the power of example. There are those who we would like to model ourselves after. Everyone needs a positive role model. Then there are those who are the exact opposite. Although they live a life far different than ours, and not in keeping with our own personal principles, they still serve as a power of example. Everyone we touch is a power of example. The lessons of life are what we become. Our perception of life is as important as our experiences. Going down the road of life blindly without direction is a plan to fail. What keeps us focused is our response to external stimuli.

I just put out a new blog, and after reading yours, I believe that in some way they are interconnected. We all have experience, strength, and hope. Sharing it allows us to grow spiritually because we release our demons. The recipient of our sharing now has the opportunity to bgain from our experience, but also to provide a response that comes from their very own experiences. We arrive together at a spiritual understanding even if our views differ. My hand extends for help, while someone else extends theirs to pull me from my troubles.

Giving is the greatest gift of life. I give of my spirituality because it is the only way to truly keep it. I give you my pain or my knowledge and wisdom of life. You accept my wisdom and benefit from what has happened to me. Perhaps you identify with my pain and provide for me a solution based on your life experience. Either way, we both win. I grow spiritually because of your assistance and understanding, and you benefit in haviing helped another human being. Together we grow regardless if we had given or received. To give of one's self is the greatest gift of all. This concept has come to me perhaps through divine intervention, but I choose to keep it as a part of my daily living.

Thanks for your blog. It really struck a chord in me and reaffirmed some of my thoughts and feelings. It really is amazing that when someone writes, they are performing the most unique and personal act imaginable. I am intrigued by writing, even though I am very new at it. Like our fingerprint, no two people can sit down and write exactly the same essay. There may be similarities, but as individuals our lives unfold on paper as unique as we are.

I plan to write a book because I have the burning desire to put to paper my hopes, dreams, and aspiration. I am not an expert at anything in this world. What I can do 100% of the time is be ME. Thanks for the blog. It was a great read, but also proof to my belief that there are no coincidences in this world. I believe in synchronicity. We are all where we are supposed to be, and we are only experiencing the master plan for us. When we make a decision, it is also the very one we were supposed to make. We are not in control. Take care!

John

Ariala
Okay! But what was that your parents told you not to do?

Ariala your "two-cents-worth" is worth way more than that...
Looking back on how I went about finding jobs, (I also thought I wanted to get hired on my own hook and not through someone I knew) and how I made hiring decisions when I got to that level, I'd say every point in your blog was useful,  right on target and a gift.

(overachiever, you?  - understatement of the year --let me tell you Ariala ) ~ This is good wisdom to share.   ~Elyse

One of the points you alluded to...
...and all of them excellent, really sticks out because I've noticed people who've made the mistake of doing it....is don't under-sell yourself any more than you would over-sell yourself.
I've seen people over-sell their experience and knowledge, only to have it bite them in the butt later-on.
And that's where the value of networking comes in.
Like you said, if you don't know something, there's somebody who does. And you smartly recognize and avail yourself of that valuable resource.
Long ago, I knew a guy who started his own painting business, not knowing a thing about it, and learned as he went along and made some good money as he went.
