I believe you are so right I cannot understand how we can as a whole nation be so prideful and egotistical. I keep going back to the last supper and the Lord talking about the greatest and the least and the one serving is the greatest. We have forgotten that. Those 'important' people are often not what we want as role models for our children and grandchildren. Be blessed dear lady.

Justi, I think people pay attention to celebrities simply because they are familiar figures. They are seen in movies, TV programs, news clips, specials, they make lots of money, usually look nice, and often play the parts of important people. People are more familiar with them than with most politicians and government people, and even teachers, preachers and evangelists are not usually in the public eye unless it is for something bad.

Re:Zen Mom
Thank you for your kind review on this issue. I was not trying to dis her particularly, but use her recent verbal blunder as a representative remark made by one not being competent enough to make such a statement. But I thank you for calling me down on the attack on her. Be blessed.

I'm not a big fan of Sharon Stone but, I really do believe it was NOT her intention to insult China or its people. She doesn't have a pattern of acting out in this manner. It appears to have been an isolated incident so, maybe we can cut her some slack.
