Exactly, Glennb. These people use words like toilet paper -- totally
disposable and usually as nasty when finally dispensed.  We didn't surrender in Vietnam but we got the hell out.  Too many people look at that war as a defeat.  Vietnam was an occupation as well.  You don't win occupations, so there is no victory, no surrender.  The indigenous population either accepts you or it does not...

After his lock-step agreement with so many things Bush, I'm surprised as
well.  People in this country are so scared of everything that they won't even attempt something new for fear it won't work either.  It's maddening and depressing...

Saul_Relative,
John McCain is not confused by his words it is "We the People" who have allowed words to have precedence over truth and actions! When these people use that word "surrender", I would ask to whom are we surrendering? To the Iraqi government that we installed? Surrender is an official declaration or agreement that requires the mutual acknowledgment of the parties involved? I am not sure what these people mean when they say "never surrender"??

He means it. If he wins...........we'll be in Iraq for a long time. I'm amazed at just how many people support him (even in MY family).
