TIME MACHINE

It may serve us all well to look, using that "time machine" that was mentioned- I believe the word we are looking for is "history".  Further, I believe that those who refuse to pay attention to it often must experience the lessons a second, and third time- to learn how to de-rail the outcome, that if we pay attention to the trends, we can PREDICT!

This notion that we the people out to justify that BULLSHIT war in IRAQ lest we not be AMERICANS or humans with hearts, is pure political rhetoric.  What other people are doing on non USA soil MUST not be OUR CONCERN, nor can any of us be expected to draw conclusions about another culture, when that culture is not even based in the same form of government, as ours.  We are asking the AMerican public to justify participation in a religious war, that I fear not even our own government is well advised on, and I don't care what anyone would say I am convinced this is a game of CHESS and WE ARE not in a favorable position- NOR HAVE WE BEEN since DAY ONE!

I am tired of the political rhetoric, based in social biased arguments that pull the emotions.  This is a bad business decision, this war is not justifiable for more than one reason, so I will not list them all here or now.  There is a body we call the United Nations, and they too decided the same that I am stating here and now.  I do not wish to depate this point, I only wish to remind you that all things are not what they may look like- and at times of war- or love all things are considered FAIR GAME!

It is possible, in fact it has been my conclusion for more than 5 YEARS that we were led into this WAR as a MEANS to DRAIN our resources, and cause political ERUPTIONS so that we would have a CIVIL WAR AMONG OURSELVES!  I do not understand WHAT THE FUCK IS SO HARD FOR people to understand about this GAME OF CHESS that we are NOT WINNING!

The Great Depression was a very sad time in history. The Great Depression officially began on October 29, 1929. This day in history is known as Black Tuesday. October 29 is the day the stock market crashed. Anyone that had money in the stock market lost most of his or her money. There were many banks across the United States that closed because of this event. This caused people to lose even more money.

The Great Depression was the worst economic struggle the world has ever faced. The event started in the United States. It became so bad it traveled across the world. The Depression lasted from 1929 until the early 1940s. During this time, more than 15 million Americans (25% of the work force at that time) were out of work.

Before the Depression started, life in the 1920s was very exciting. This period in history was known as the Roaring Twenties. Jazz was very popular. There were plenty of parties. People had a great time. During this period, most Americans liked to spend money. It was common to see the average person shopping for cars, things for their home, and many other new products. Any extra money was often placed in the stock market. Of course, when the people went shopping they were not paying cash. Many of them paid with credit.

Lessons from the past- are they destined to repeat if we do not learn from them the first time?  How many children even know those economic lessons in modern culture?  How many times do we hear our parents and our leaders telling us that the values of our culture have been de-railed somehow?  We hear it all the time, yet what are we doing as a culture to integrate the economic lessons of our past into our present day education model, or how many of our popular television shows, or video games, or other forms of media introduce any economic principals whatever into the logical thought sequence of our population?

Do we rant and rave about a board game that is teaching kids the concepts of the scientific process, or do we rant and rave about each other?  In a day and age when we stand to gain so much by looking at our history what is holding us back?  Those tough lessons seem to be repeating. I am curious to know if they are repeating because we did not learn the valuable lessons in history the first time around?  Is this possible- I am not making a value statement here, I am only asking a question- It is up to each of us to determine what sort of life we want for ourselves in this country- while we sit around waiting for the government to “fix the economy” I am wondering where all the social workers in this country are that have the skill set of Mead to help us empower ourselves?   ©

Best regards to you all-

Writer-O-Flight,
I don't know! So why don't you peek into that "time-space travel" apparatus you have and tell us!

Re: Harvardgirl Global,
So invading Iraq would have eliminated the massive increase for ga$ and oil in China and India? And what would Saddam have done by now to his neighbors had he not been deposed?

YES!!!!!!
It makes sense to a Congress full of lawyers, but to no one else. I can hardly wait to see what the oil barons of OPEC do with this. I wonder if we can sue Congress over its refusal to increase our own oil production?

Harvardgirl Global,
Everybody seems to have forgotten that "oil" was around 15 dollars a barrel before we invaded Iraq! Do you think it would be anywhere near this price if we were not so diverted by this "patriotism" hoax! Tell me what is the real plan? What is a million dead Iraqis worth? Last time they tried to hike the price "without war" there was anarchy in America? Remember?
