Funny you mention that, notapoet. I, too, have watched more games this
year than since I was about 17 or 18...

The Spurs collectively know what it takes to win the big one. I am not sure that the Lakers understand that as well as the Spurs. sam

Duncan is indeed a great one.
As a Tarheel fan, I was fortunate enough to seem him play throughout his collegiate career at Wake Forest.  I followed his early pro career when he teamed up with the great David Robinson to create one of the most formidable front court tandems in the history of the NBA.  Both Robinson, ignored by college recruiters, and Duncan, a late-comer to the game of basketball, are  great feel-good stories about good guys who do things the right way, and with class.  I tend to agree with your evaluation of the Spurs' chances, but you just can't write off a team that has Duncan going for them.  They could still end up going for another title in the finals.  I just hope my Pistons are there.  The Pistons are tough at home, but your Celtics have been invulnerable on their own court.  The playoffs are actually a lot of fun this year.  I've watched more pro games this season than I have since I was a kid.
