I would simply say no because you do not approve of the way he handles his money and you don't want to continue enabling his behavior. I had to do this with my daughter. It works, she improve dramatically. sam

ZenMom is right, there is a big difference between forgiving and forgetting and I think you get the two mixed up somehow.

maybe you could consider this a different way............you could "forgive" your stepson......just don't FORGET that he has weaknesses (which, obviously include money managment). Never lend him money again.......but, give yourself a break........let it go. And, don't expect to see the money repaid for quite some time........if ever.
