Re:
I highly recommend John Michael Talbot's songs in which he sets poetry by Merton, St. John of the Cross and others to music. His CDs "The Lover and the Beloved," and "Meditations from Solitude" have some pieces in common, but both are excellent.

Great poem. I have read Thomas Merton and he is one of my favorite nature poets. There was a poem of his Song for nobody that I loved, it started with a flower singing by itself to nobody and it ended : " A golden heaven sings by itself a song for nobody" I was young when I read it and I thought it was so poignant and beautiful at the same time. Your poem is also poignant and beautiful. Thank you for sharing it.
