It's so "green" to shop thrift stores. As for paisley, it's in again.
And all those '70s graphic tee shirts. Makes you want to say "Peace, Man," and stick a flower in your hair...

I think I still have my paisley tie from high school
maybe it's time to bring it out again? You know, with the flip up collar? LOL Yes, that style came back in the 80's. Well, in my high school it did. Gawd..I miss those days. Well, sometimes. LOL

blackcat, I love leggings and wear them often...I don't wear the stirup
pants unless I have boots on and a long sweater...to me that's most comfortable...

I don't pay attention to extreme trends... but I also try not to stay stuck
in the 80's either. I feel like either way, both are "trendy" whether old or new. I try to stick to the classic stuff that works anytime...
I'm sure I fail constantly, but if I wore stirups with a big tshirt out in public, I'd feel like more people were looking at me than if I wore a low cut shirt.... and I don't like the attention either way! (plus I always hated that style... I don't think I even wore it when it was "in".. LOL)
Just give me straight cut jeans and a tshirt and I'm fine.

We don't have thrift shops so much in France,
We have emmaüs, but I've never found anything I could wear there. But we do have factory shops, last year's designer clothes sold at unbeatable prices. Fashion is so hot that even last year's is only worth a fraction of its orginal price. We have one here in Quimper, very classy sort of seaside wear. At their factory shop you can get really nice simple stuff at great prices. I'm a jeans and tee shirt person, a couple of good woolen sweaters for when the wind gets up. I don't need much. And I certainly don't follow fashion at all.

I'm a sale shopper........total yellow-dot sales at Carsons. My kids say I'm cheap, but I disagree. I'm just trying to teach lessons.......look for the sales. They are so proud when they come home and show me something they bought dirt cheap.
On the other hand, when I find a piece that I REALLY love (and looks great on me), it doesn't matter how much $$$$., I'm buying it. It's usually a quality designer piece that will last forever.
I'll be honest, I don't NEED clothes to feel good about myself but, nevertheless.......the right outfit CAUSES me to feel better.....confident........more vibrant and alive.
(I could see myself in the dress you're wearing.....but, I'd cinch the waist w/ a wide belt and accessorize w/ nice jewelry. You have such a nice figure......I bet your husband would go crazy if I could dress you up. No tattoos, I promise.)

Ah fashion, ariala. I follow the trends and pick out what suits me. I also keep my clothes an eternity, everything is bound to come back, you only have to wait long enough. And a word the thrift shops: like you, I LOVE them. However, I found more and better in London than here. Second hand designer shops there are an Aladin's Cave. I once got a vintage Chanel suit in black and sequins for approx. $200 and if I had granddaughters, they could still leave it to their children. All I have to do is watch my weight. Easy enough and cheap to boot. Thanks so much for your congratulation. I am still so proud.
