I certainly hope that we wil not end up as extentions of machines.  Even in the business world people are seen as mere resources and personality counts less and less in certain jobs.  As long as the rules are followed and the output is as desired, it doesn't matter who or what provides the input.  For all I care the whole industrial "machine" can collapse.  If the only way that we can return to full human interaction with each other and our natural environment is for the current structures of society to fall apart, so be it.  We should never become the slaves of structures and machines that benefit only the elite in the long run.  Good post!

well said!  I recently read about a Freshman NYU course that teaches kids to interact face to face with each other (rather than via Facebook/MySpace, etc.).  That our kids need to learn the skill to personally interact tells all!
