- Go to In Memorium: Eric Levine
femme, I kept calling a friend dying of AIDS and trying to get past his
traumatized teen children. Finally, one last time, they put me on and we spoke beyond his strength and endurance that night and I was so grateful to have pushed as we never spoke again. I made him laugh and we hugged on the phone and we both let go.
I had regrets from when I was younger that I had sworn to never feel again.
Your community is made up of delicate, wonderful people, and so you will suffer more than most of us must, losing them all too soon. I am so sorry about your friend Eric.
You describe him as a vital and involved and wonderful person. That is all that we can ask of life, to live it as fully as we can. He did. He was blessed, as you were to be his friend. You will call a friend next time and you can thank Eric for that life lesson in your youth.

I'm sorry for you. It is so very hard when you lose a friend, especially under those circumstances. Please reach out to other people during this time, just so you don't feel alone.
