Ariala ~ I had to come back and take time after reading your blog here.  We are all suffering the change of tides ~ and I pray for us all that we just find security within safer (est) harbors...be it within each other's arms and hearts.  My heart goes out to you and to us all ~ I am worried, yes, I'm human but, I have to just keep going on and doing all I can do - 'til my weariness makes me stumble...then I re-group and re-think and simply, keep doing the 'best' I can do.  God will take care of the rest...of this I am assured.  I love you Ariala ~ (we pray!! "thy will be done" Amen) ~~ Elyse

Ariala
I believe in the words of the famous philosopher Alfred E Neuman..."What, me worry?"

I stopped worrying about most things a couple of years ago
when I realized it only served to make matters worse and me ill!  God always comes through for us if we let Him; take care

Actually dear Ariala I gave my financial problems to God over twenty years
ago and although He never fulfills all my wants and must haves he always takes care of my needs. I say thank you every day. I'm sure he is working for you and your Husband too.

I know being laid off isn't fun..
I've never been but I've been fired for no reason.  That's even worse.  I hope he can continue to work.  I guess it's good that I'm a daycare teacher.  People will always need daycare for their kids.  Then again, if they're not working how can they pay us?

I guess I feel I don't have much to really "worry" about, once I consider the woman in the picture.

Florida DIL was not thrilled to learn that 500 positions in the Volusia County school district are on the chopping block and that her teaching position would be gone at the end of her present contract (August) because their budget had been slashed by $39 million.  She is not tenured in that county even though she has taught for 15 years because she changed schools/counties four years ago.

Someone else compiled these but, they work for me:

“An anxious heart weighs a man down, but a kind word cheers him up” Proverbs 12:25, NIV)

“I sought the LORD, and he heard me, and delivered me from all my fears” (Psalm 34:4)

“Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus” (Philippians 4:6-7)

“Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time. Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you” (1 Peter 5:6-7) (Psalm 55:22-23)

“Then Jesus said to his disciples: ‘Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat; or about your body, what you will wear. Life is more than food, and the body more than clothes. Consider the ravens: They do not sow or reap, they have no storeroom or barn; yet God feeds them. And how much more valuable you are than birds! Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life? Since you cannot do this very little thing, why do you worry about the rest?’” (Luke 12:22-26, NIV) (also see Matthew 6:25-34)

“Why are you downcast, O my soul? Why so disturbed within me? Put your hope in God, for I will yet praise him, my Savior and my God” (Psalm 42:5)

“Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight. Do not be wise in your own eyes; fear the LORD and shun evil. This will bring health to your body and nourishment to your bones” (Proverbs 3:5-8)

“…the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groans that words cannot express. And he who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the saints in accordance with God’s will. And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose” (Romans 8:26-28)

“And my God will meet all your needs according to his glorious riches in Christ Jesus” (Philippians 4:19)

“I can do everything through him who gives me strength” (Philippians 4:13)

Not any more ariala, because worry leads nowhere. I sold my business two years ago, knowing full well, that I would not have any income and have to live on my savings and odd investments. At the beginning I was counting my money every single day!! Now, I'm used to living modestly and don't worry anymore. If I run out of funds, there are always the bridges...(not to jump off but to sleep under)
