Why do I always get this sense that there is more meaning in your writing than what seems to appear? In this one, the "as if-ness" would seem to be impossible. But is it? While there seems to be no juxtaposition with current reality (oh, is that hidden?), it goes on as if to exhaust itself with enumeration..."if I could love you, let me count the ways"...as if there were such a reality in the abscence of our existential experience. Now, there's the rub--and what's not said or even implied. Therefore the opposite: Everything you said could also be immanent--though we're not going to get it all at once, because that's why we have Time. Thus your enumeration (for lack of a better term--wish list) is what we might already have, and might not have been aware we were already experiencing. Sometimes you just got to listen to an empty drum.
Anyway, I guess I might as well start apologizing, because I relly didn't mean to confuse myself.

Sinome
To even be able to fantasize such selfless love....that is special; and to write it so beautifully to share with others....maybe influence just one person to think about what truly loving another might mean.....that is really, really special....and tells me that the author is, too.

Simone, a beautiful poetic ecstasy of an unselfish utopia

A wonderous thing to contemplate, Sinome.
And I know you would do it too, if you could. You're that kind of person. Lovely poem, as usual.
