Ah, we are products of our generation!
We have not passed along our PASSION for peace to the next generation, have we?  Were they wearing the latest designs? A far cry from when we forsook such statements of comfort, and ate and lived on love and next to nothing in deference to the shabby chic of today's materialistic generations, the ones that emerged from our loins. We had poverty and we had passion.  We were not hippies who withdrew, but the ones who demonstrated and risked going to jail, risked being bashed in the head with a billy club, and even being gassed, pinned down by dogs or water tortured with firehoses.  My only demonstration was sleeping on the floors of KU's admin bldg.  In the morning, they left us alone and we just all gathered up our pillows and blankets and trudged home, wondering if we'd done any good.  No one was hurt and feelings had been voiced as people dressed as missles circulated as we listened to one firey speech after another. We had friends being shot, spit out, killed in our war and we felt anger and passion because of it.  This war and our own fascists have become very clever at how to stage everything.  When more people begin to feel a pinch in their bellies from no jobs, no homes and no food, then we had better watch out. Anger will burst with a passion we wished had stayed away!

And as Forrest Gump would have said, that's all I've got to say about that!

CEE Gump (be sure to wear this flower in your hair at your next rally!)

Mindlessness rules everywhere. I'm not surprised by those demonstrators. And the worst is: they'll go home feeling GOOD about themselves.

That's too bad. It's hard to see people just go through the motions of something that you really care about.
