Mysteria
It's very true that we often see ourselves in others.  The reverse is often true as well - that the things we dislike about other people are often the things we don't like about ourselves.

I would say the hammer has struck the head with authority in this quotable quote!   sam

I agree with you and jefco.
And the opposite is true, too; we are rubbed the wrong way or irritated by people who reflect traits we don't like about ourselves.  We are all self-ish in that way.  This is all about exploration of the self anyway, all parts of life are parts of us.  The very act of living is self-indulgence.

The moment you feel it's ok to look at yourself as a whole, and not just in
selective pieces, is the moment you understand your worth - and what an important investment you are

It makes sense - when do we feel good about ourselves-----
when we are comfortable with the people around us and with ourselves and of course we are always most comfortable with those who "get" us or understand us on an intuitive level, which they can accomplish because they share many of our traits. Instinctively you know that, if you see something you like in another and you share that trait that it is possible for others to like you as well.
