I'm at the limit of my 'doubling up' as well, sam. Maybe with medical
advances, it'll be a bit longer, but who knows?  We just have to perservere...

Hey sam, I am 51 and still fighting fit, and I play Cricket with boys my son's age. So what Sinome says is all correct. Hope you take a cue.

Hey!  you need to relax and realize that 53 is not old now a days.  I know it can feel old but it is not!!  so,  smile and shake your arms and legs at the same time.  Then get to your computer and write, write and write...  You are very talented and writing will help you stay away from what I call the late life blues.  Just think About this :  according to recent statistics about Jewish women... you might live comfortably another 40 years, if not more G-d willing...so, get at ease with yourself and hunker down,  it might be a bumpy ride but  it will probably be a long one :-)
