Goodness! I hope his condition has stabilized?
There is a cocktail of medications that can, within minutes, save the life of a person in congestive heart failure. I remember when I was new to ICU and watched a patient foam at the mouth, being in total failure. I thought we would have to emergently intubate him, but instead was instructed to give him a combination of Lasix, Morphine and Nitroglycerin. Within minutes he was 99% better. It was amazing!!

I hope you'll come back to these pages soon
as I'd like to renew our writing exchanges; hope your absence doesn't mean bad things have happened.

what sort of IDIOT would say that to your poor mom?
I have never agreed with doctors who give their human predictions on how long someone has to live - ridiculous. I hope your dad stays on a good routine and lives for many years to come.

Frightening. I hope he sticks to his medication as well. I couldn't stop thinking of the panic your mother was undergoing! sam
