winged - now with your views on Blogit
One of the things that I remind people of who feel as you do about what they read on Blogit is that this little blogging site offers the opportunity to develop a community within the larger community. I agree with you to a great extent, there is a great deal of content on this site that makes me want to hurl . . . but fortunately we don't have to read it. It takes a bit of effort to create a list of favorites and not read that which offends you but somewhere in this conglomerate mess there is a space for every type of writer.

winged - dealing with your email problem first
Email is technically challenging for the casual user. Depending on your set up however, there are a number of things that can be done very easily. If you are using webmail, I recommend switching to GMail by Google as it has a number of very easy to use options such as filters. If you are using an email service incorporated with your email client such as Outlook, it too has a number of filtering options. I can help with rudimentary advice, depending on how your email is set up.

I woke up to 19 spam emails. That is just too many to delete. Most of what you are

talking about is far above me. I'm trying to understand but it is all so technical.

I'm going to try to eliminate the spam from your directions. Thanks. Good luck on

your site. It sounds very interesting. I may be interested a little later. I don't like

the way Blogit has let intruders who aren't interested in writing as an art come into

our personal space and preach on terrorists, government policies, etc. This was

a wonderful site some months ago. With people who come in for the money only or

to spred propaganda, comes unrest and it is contagious. These sour apples are

ruining the site for us artists who work because we love it.

Sunnybeach7 - I think it depends on the amount of email activity that a

person engages in.

I send a lot of emails and do a lot of business via email. I've also caught some of my clients using BCC to send broadcast emails with my address on the list. Inevitably careless use by others will fall into the wrong hands. It seems that I have had my email address scooped up by some form of list harvesting group that sells it to other spammers. It will all come to a crashing halt however, I'm going to institute a challenge system which I will describe in future posts.

Gome
That really sucks :-(

Fortunately, I've gotten away with very little spam on my main two accounts. My addys are not listed out there in too many places, and I'm always careful when signing up for anything iffy, I use addys for accounts that I never use.

It's good of you to share this info. There are many people here that I'm sure don't know how to take action against this kind of thing.
