Tiddlypush, I've never noticed your name here before today. How did I miss you for so long. This is a great post. My older sister became a resident in a place like this just a few months ago. It has taken her, and her loved ones some time to get used to how it works. She doesn't exactly like it there, but she is learning to make the best of it.

I guess those with Alzheimer's...
...and similar age-related problems will experience muddled thoughts, and maybe that's a good thing in a way. My 83-year-old mother thinks one of the cruel things about aging is to still have a crystal clear mind and to feel inside as you always have, but to watch the image in the mirror gradually become unrecognizable. Like driving around in an increasingly deteriorating car, except you can't pull over, climb out and step into a nice shiny new one. Good post. Your contact with the elderly is no doubt giving you a lot of insight into the aging process.
