He's a Baptist. That should be enough said.
Otherwise, the institution that created the Pope needs to be reevaluated. The attitude that there is a descending level of authority and intelligence and all that from the Pope down to the people needs to be changed. This has created condescension on the part of those in higher escelons, and basically thumbing the nose at ordinary people within and particularly without the Catholic paradigm.
This creates a monolithic attitude that sees its own organization as infallible and all-powerful and all outside it as, at best, pawns to be used to the benefit of that monolith.
You have to see personally this behemoth in action to understand that there is a mindset there that is counterproductive to all that is truly Christian.
Here in St. Louis, the Archdiocese and other Catholic institutions pretty well run roughshod over neighbors and neighborhoods and have very little respect for employees other than management.

If the pope did what you suggest here; rip out all offenders, the catholic church would really be up shit creek........i've heard that the parish in our town has a new priest each week saying mass....the priest that was there when i was still attending was booted out for shacking up in the rectory with a married woman........whom later had a nervous breakdown (the woman, not the priest).
