Interesting bit of info!
I never occurred to me that this counted as being "published". I wonder if they use the searching to catch plagiarism, as well as locating previous publications?
I'll have to keep this in mind, in case I ever decide to enter a contest using a piece I've already posted here!

strat---it does give you sole rights---and the rules are different for articles and such. For poetry they're sticklers about the "unpublished" rule, and consider a site like Blogit a "vanity" site, which is published. Now it's also a member's only site, but sometimes that doesn't matter.

Funny, that never really occurred to me,
