Oh yeah, I remember the song. As a kid, I liked it, I may even have owned a 45. :) It's just that later it got to be a bit like a grain of sand in your shoe. It's a good song though, a retelling of the legend of Hero and Leander.

it's a 50's song, remember. I am glad to hear of y our heritage, I have strong feelings about the Europeans' treatment of indigenous Americans.

I liked the song but as an Indian it sort of annoyed me at the same time. LOL. JBTW, did you know, very few North American Indians knew how to swim? Very few Northern Europeans at the time of exploration and colonization, too, for that matter.
