You are guilty of only one thing...
...loving your Son. I'm sure he'll understand one day...if he doesn't already. It is good for you to cleanse your soul like this. I am deeply moved by your outpouring of regret...born of love. And I'm sure that you and your son will have an understanding when it's all said and done. So, keep hoping and in the meantime...don't be too hard on yourself.
