Living in Florida- The Bible Belt- where most are baptist, i keep a low
profile, since i am not a christian, and my politics run along the lines liberal to socialism. Ideally a very small government.  I would be tared and feathered and run right out of this community if people knew my beliefs. I do not believe religion and politics should be linked in any way even though i don't believe in or care about either. But i understand how Bush used religion to get and stay in the white house and his reasons for doing so. He made people feel if they were not christians they were not good Americans. (I believe in standing up for what you believe in and fighting if necessary for those beliefs.) I just don't believe in blindly following someone because they are christian or republican.

Re: Very true ! Great political analysis !
Thanks for the good word. I find it ironic that so many Christians are pulled to the right -- somehow I don't think of Jesus as a Republican.
