Re: Sira

LOL Naut!

I've always admired men and their ability to "problem solve" quickly and efficiently. Generally when girls fight, its a 2 week adventure, involving silent treatment, back stabbing, rumor starting, and all sorts of other nasty verbal assaults. Then they cry, hug, and make up.

Guys on the other hand, deal with everything in a 10 minute brawl. Yell, throw a couple punches. Shake hands, wipe the blood off their faces, have a beer. Problem solved.

Thanks for reading

Sira

What can I say - you're a woman after my own heart! This may not have been a funny situation, but one in which you did the only thing you should have done, although it is my sense that women often don't do what is sometimes necessary.

There are times when 'reason', 'civilization', and all that other good stuff comes to an end, and I think most men would share my attitude when I say that absolutely no none, and be he the Devil himself, would get away with spitting on me without having his nose broken...well, I'd give it a damn good try anyway...

Re:

Marie,

Thanks for the lovely comments. You're right--it's not healthy to let others define who we are as people. Then again, I've always believed that our experiences, whether good or bad, help to shape the people we become, because they change our perspective on life.

Count me in on the sisterhood of imperfection!

Re: Sira

LOL Kaboom!

I'd love to know how life has treated her over the past 10 years or so. And there's a nasty little part of me that hopes you're right--she's gotten ugly on the outside, to match her mean insides. Maybe she even has a cheating husband and a pack of ungrateful kids, just to even the score a bit...

Unfortunately, I'll probably never know for sure, because she's 2 years ahead of me and in a different graduating class, so she won't be at my highschool reunion.

Re: Sira

Yeah, Kaboom, she spit. Believe me, no one was more shocked than I was!

It certainly would be a nicer world if kids didn't have to deal with bullying and hard lessons in school--my incident is nothing compared to some of the horrible acts committed every day. Then again, it did make me a stronger person, albeit a bit more jaded.

Thanks for reading, and for the lovely comments

Re: This was a very powerful story..

FYS,

You're right--she was ugly on the inside. I hope that she's grown up a bit since then, and changed her nasty ways. But you never know with people like that.

Thanks for reading, and for the lovely comments

Sira, please don't let "Jane" or anyone else define who you are. You just happened to be a convenient target for her. I thought it was so interesting that just before I read that, I posted a blog, and one of my comments was that our conditions are not who we are. Then I read on to your previous blog about being slack in your reading and blogging. And mine was about my being AWOL. Maybe we can form the sisterhood of imperfect people... but people who care enough to form relationships and accept ourselves as worthwhile beings! Cheers, Marie

This was a very powerful story..

where you write this:  "I wasn't sorry I'd done it, but I was sorry that I'd had to."  This was probably the most powerful statement you make.  Of course you shouldn't have been punished for violence, because defense is not an act of violence.

The girl on the big "perfect" pedistal showed herself for what she really was--UGLY.  She was only hiding her ugliness behind a pretty face.  The sad thing is that her ugliness has caused you so much suffering over the years.
