Shelly,

I'd like to say I had a perfect childhood but I didn't.  Both of my parents are alcoholics and drank incesantly on weekends.  I'm not saying there weren't happy times, but I spent a lot of time hidng in my room or going off to friends houses whenever I could.

At school, I'd try to pretend that everything was okay because I didn't want anyone to find out.

To this day, I won't touch hard liquor.  I've had the ocassional wine cooler, but I haven't had one in years now.

What really gets me is that every once in a while my family will try to pressure me into drinking with them.

Go figure!...

I think I'll skip the things I would change

and just be  grateful that I had extended family that loved me dearly.

Yes, I was always and continue to be an optimistic & basically positive..
person, despite many many hardships / setbacks that go back to my childhood..but I believe that each one of us has a purpose greater than ourselves, despite any hardships He may put us thru, and to grow with life is the key ! Ash

I would have loved to have brothers and sisters. I am an only child and now that both my parents, who were also only children, have passed away, my entire family consists of-me!
