You gave the best advice on how to take a break from a deadline piece. Usually, I will stand up and leave it, but not thinking about it at all by focusing on something else seems to be the missing step for me.

Very good advice
I usually go for a walk, even if it's just a quick one. No music, no distractions. Just one little Sira, wandering around in the spring sunshine, thinking odd thoughts and pondering the mysteries of life.
