Re: What are you looking for
Norwood, It is possible to love more than one person at the same time. Monogamy is not a "natural" way to live. Most of the sexual abuse and abuse of all kinds happens within the nuclear family. It is a a very ineffective way to raise healthy human beings.

What are you looking for
that you sleep with so many men or is this from the past I hope so. One has to delve into the self to really understand oneself without distractions.

Re: Kudo's to a good mom for offering a glimpse of "grown-up" life...
Raven, we went through some very rocky times, but she always knew I loved her and that's what has kept us together, now we are very, very close. She turned out to be a fantastic person and mom to two beautiful children.

Re: Vogue
My daughter is a strong willed young woman (like her mom was) and possesses many talents, but they are very different from my own. This is a chapter from my memoir, and these events happened 20 years ago. She has had several careers, been a chef, been in Navy intelligence, went to college, got a degree, studied abroad, went to nursing school in French speaking Quebec (she's fluent in French), married a great guy and has two beautiful daughters and works as a Nurse. I am blessed.

Re: Growing pains ... and she's still searching it seems.
Vickip, Thanks for telling me about your background. I think we do tend to assume the people around us think like we think or see what we see. Much of the talents we possess we were born with, so they are genetic and therefore seem invisible, like breathing...

Kudo's to a good mom for offering a glimpse of "grown-up" life...
Sounds like she is lucky to have a mom who will lay the reality of life on the table - I think sometimes the younger generations have a sense of "entitlement" that really needs to be reigned in and later in life, if not sooner, she will appreciate your candor and logic.

Have you noticed any creative talents in Erika? Does she even remotely take after her talented mother?

Growing pains ... and she's still searching it seems.
I agree that creative people seem to have a hard time "fitting in" or relating to people who are not creative.  I was in marketing (property management), for years - I could throw together a campaign and the collateral marketing tools in a few days, no problem.  When I would try to assign someone on a property to do artwork for their individual advertising, I would be amazed at the lack of creativity.  I would try to brain storm with my assistant for campaign slogans, she would just look at me blankly.  It is hard for me to imagine these things do not come as easily to others.  It's like some of the poetry I read here - no way in hell could I write anything close, I am in awe of their talent ... I wonder if this is puzzling to the authors.  Great reading you
