Right you are, djtwreckz. My personal favorite is Adriana Lima. I find
the Giselle's a bit too aquiline of feature...

By traditional standards Sarah Jessica Parker is NOT sexy
You are right...by Matthew Broderick's standards, Sarah Jessica Parker is sexy...but by modern chauvinist male standards, she is certainly NOT sexy. Her face does not fit the modern image of sexy. If you look at the woman lauded in today's society for being sexy, you will see what I mean. Jessica Biel, Jessica Alba, Elisha Cuthbert, etc., etc. There is a commonality among the way they look. They are all young, for one, and their bodies and faces share similar attributes. I could go on and on about this subject, but that would take up even more space...

I must not be worth a damn (and there are people that will back that up),
sad to say.  But, for me personally, there is nothing at all sexy about Sarah Jessica Parker.  Generally, FYS, I stay away from these topics but, since I've always wondered how and why SJP kept getting theses plum roles when she's a wooden actress, not good looking, far from sexy.  I've thought for years: Right-place, right time and a damned good agent.  And she might be easy to work with.  But I love Angelica Huston and Kathy Bates and Rhea Perlman and Bette Midler and plenty others with unconventional looks and styles, so I don't know.  What I do know is that I happen to agree with Maxim on this one (and, yeah, I'm usually the guy looking at People magazine's top 50 best looking list and saying, "Where's __________?" and "You mean __________ isn't in here?  You got to be kidding me?" and "Why the hell is _____________ in this at all?"

I have one question....what suddenly made Maxim the expert?
I know a few men that find Sarah Jessica Parker sexy....to men worth a damn, "hot" is being more than a cookie-cutter face.

No one really enjoys having to take pot shots,
but on the other hand, Maxim is not exactly the font of all wisdom. It's frat house humor wearing a tie; it's badly hung over young yuppie material. In other words, it appeals to guys like Cosmo appeals to women; it is simply not to be taken seriously.

I saw that issue and thought it was pretty funny, albeit mean-spirited, but too, they constantly turn on celebs. In one issue, they have Tyra Banks as the cover story and can't slather enough butter and sugar on it. Two issues later, they're saying things like, "What moron gave this person a TV show?"

Personally, I don't find Sarah Jessica Parker terribly unattractive; it's just that she plays so many truly annoying characters, and occasionally doesn't seem to separate those annoying traits from the real world. Or at least, that's what the media portrays.

Oh well; sorry about the lengthy comment here. This was a fun post!

Thanks, sam. And good night, Mrs. Magillicutty, wherever you are...

Good point, Myrddn. But these people pretty much know what they're
getting into.  It's been no secret that if you become famous, you're ripe for picking (on).  And I don't think it matters, really.  People judge people for superficial things all the time.  I sit in malls and make comments about people who walk by -- their wardrobe, hair, the way they walk, how big their heads are, how I need to get to my car before that pack of thugs get to the parking lot...

She had a facelift? You're kidding? She should sue.

Your closing comment was too precious. If you are going to live in the spotlight then you will be the 'Jimmy Durante' of nosiness and rating. lol

I wonder...
what kind of comments we who judge others' appeal here would elicit for our own looks.  We also easily judge celebrities who have what some may describe as "personality flaws".  How would we ourselves become under the pressure people like us put on these folks.  I do not think that being continuously haunted by the media and the dribble they often spew for sales would leave all of us untouched and "sane" in the eyes of ill informed onlookers who have never gotten to know these people personally.  Obviously we are all able to have our say, but I for one know that I do not know enough about any of these woman as real people to be in a position to judge their character.

I agree
The only movie I've ever seen her in where she is remotely attractive was hocus pocus. That mole she has though is wretched and if I were her husband I would probably want to slice it off with a potato skin pealer. What is up with the Sex and The City movie. By this point it's like The Golden Girls Sex and the City. Any redeeming quality she did have was slaughtered by that terrible face lift she had done. Just remember, there is no slaughter without laughter... or is it the other way around?

She most certainly does, afzal...

This is true, vickip. Look at Ashlee Simpson. Total makeover. Hounded
by the media for it.  Before the makeover, she was compared unfavorably to her sister.

Never liked the show, myself, SEEDLINGS. Never saw its appeal.
But to each their own.  I think she's a talented actress.  However, in now way do I think she's pretty or sexy in any way... (and that's me being shallow)

Such shallowness, Ariala, has become a lucrative marketing tool in
itself...

I agree about the horses, Myrddn. And I think all these women are talented
(except for Winehouse).  They aren't attractive in various ways, but they are talented in various ways as well.  Some would equate talent with beauty.  But, then, beauty is a shallow lens...

I think Ariala has a point too .

Spot on Ariala .... I was thinking the same thing. These poor celebs
are told they should look a certain (profitable), way or they will not get parts, sell records, etc.  THEN, when they do something to change their looks, they are relentlessly and maliciously made fun of by the media.  They can't win.

But I just love
Those old  "Sex in the City' re-runs with Sarah Jessica in her man under-wear. I mean, she  looks so comfy, it just makes me want to find a man with under pants like that so I can wear them! really, I swear.

I hate how Hollywood and the field of glamour and beauty have defined
what is sexy, beautiful and acceptable.  If it's not hard enough for women already, we are told we're not sexy if we don't look a certain way or have certain features, etc.  Personally, such shallowness makes me puke.

Bad Taste
I may not agree with much these woman are doing, but I find them all very sexy.  I must have very bad taste then.  Then again, beauty is in the eye of the beholder, so perhaps some people have large pieces of wood lodged in their eyes making them see strange things.  By the way, I love horses, they are one of the most noble looking creatures on earth.
