True. Guilt can be a catalyst...
...but, often it isn't. It's precipitates change only when it's earned. That's why religious conversions are so life-changing, because our sin has "found us out." Unearned guilt used to afflict me, because people of many religious faiths, tend to
over-develop their consciences, and I was one of them. They think that every breath they take is a sin. They also feel responsible for literally everything and when they can't perform the impossible, they're left with guilt. Anyway, I'm rambling. Sorry 'bout that. An excellent post does it to me every time! Take care, Ariala!

the most guilt I have ever felt was when my daughter joined the Navy ..
oy vey - I remember the night she took off for boot camp - I cried my eyes out thinking I had done something to make her want to go that far away from me. She called me from the airport before they left for Chicago. I asked her what I had done so wrong - she said, "ohhhhhhh brother mom - you haven't done anything wrong, it's just what I want to do!" lol ... I will never forget that deep, anguishing feeling of guilt anyway. Maybe that's normal, but not something I would ever want to feel on a daily basis.
