Ive visited it actually... great stuff. I just have to break that barrier of commenting on other people' writing.. It still feels a bit awkward for me sometimes although that should change soon enough

Re:
Yeah most definitely... although I dont think creativity comes from a vacuum though, Its still nice to get inspired by something you read or write and be influenced by that as a result

I do not think writing relies so much on education as it does on
inspiration and practice.  I can't diagram a sentence worth a damn and I have a degree in English (creative writing).  I've been writing with the intent of professionality since the seventh grade.  In all my years of grade school and college, I rarely have had anyone correct anything in my written assignments.  The few corrections that I did incur were usually do to poor proofreading and typos.  In fact, I have always disliked formal writing and grammar classes.  I find the rules far too constricting.  Writing is an art.  If you follow simple sytactic and context rules, there is no end to the way you can express yourself and convey your message. So, just write...

Be original and say what you wish to say in your own words! Copycatting is popular but not satisfying!

Boy, do I agree with you. I can only say, that thanks to blogit I have had the courage to finish my first novel because blogging hones the skills and style and other people's entries are great guidelines (or not, as the case may be). Much of what you expressed could have come right out of my heart.

Re: your writing

Hello,

I am trying to finish my first story-see RAKHI, a story of a woman, in my blog. I was afraid of the lack of English language knowledge. My friends encouraged me to put my ideas on paper. That is what I did and now find myself writing stories in English. I had written stories before in Gujarati language, of Gujarat State of India. Those stories were well appreciated by many. Some of my friends in this country pushed me to write stories in English. So, now you can judge my effort by reading my story, RAKHI.

Your write up is good and I can feel the frustration you express about not being like the 'good' writers! One can improve only by continuously puting the ideas on paper. I wish you all the success.

I'd like to think you've made a pretty good leap already for a start...to be able to get those thoughts on paper/cyberpaper, i say your your 'baby' has begun to crawl on towards his first step and forward to the wide world of writing...you just have to keep them flowing and allow it to grow as it unfolds its own beauty before your eyes guided by your heart my friend...before you know it your digital nerves would find it hard to catch up with your brain's adrenalin rush...let it flow flow and grow....Good luck my friend...visit my blog when you get the time dear...

God Bless
