Very true
Cell phones, like everything, has a place in our lives.  And, like other technology and gadgets, we human being abuse them.  I believe it's the illusion of being connected, 24 hours a day - phone, Internet, TV, whatever.  It's our inability to 'switch off' literally and figuratively, that gets us into a mess that we are in.  The technology has many options - silent, meeting, voice mail - which we can use even when the cell is wither in our bags, cars or home.

Cell phones
Good argument. Though my cell is not glued to my ear, I do know a few people that are!

It's ironic that cell phone users...
...live in the "now" with the person on the other end, but, not with those in the same room with them! It's amazing to see people at a Starbucks, all talking on cells, while completely oblivious to those around them. So, reality has been tranfered to the phone, while the physical world has become nebulous, at best! Great points and great post, Seedlings!

Shelly
My mother is the worse offender, she calls me at the doctors office, she calls me at the grocery, she calls me in the bathroom, MY MOTHER of all people can not back away and put down the phone and she is in her mid 70's

Well, I had to listen to a friend talk while she went to the bathroom
I really didn't need to hear the toilet flush, did I?
