Ben
What a nice story and I'm glad to know where the name originated. I tried what ya sent me about"Editing" Ben, but to no avail, think now it is above me. Yellow page kept coming up telling me I couldn't see that page or whatever. Using a computer has made me feel like a criminal with it's weird words of caution for things I did. Think I'll go back to hot type!!

whim, babies and dogs hate Halloween costumes. but, someone has to torture
them with the holidays. Family traditions and all that. Colby sounds like the easy fellow that most boys are when babies. I loved your photos of their costumes. Too cute.

Your Dogs and My Kids

The twins weren't too happy with their hats either, but Colby finally gave in and kept his on.

pecanflower, thank you for thinking that I'm worthy of dog ownership. Autumn is not very happy right now.

She has a pink polka dot scarf, pearls and kitty sunglasses on for Halloween and believes this to be a barbaric custom of uncivilized people. Makeda is wearing a golden crown and pearls and gold neclaces. She kept taking the crown off of her head, but has now given up fighting me on this and is actually napping in it, awaiting Halloween visitors.

She runs out the door to greet everyone, with her scary Dobie Rottie self, but the pearls and crown take all that away from her demeanor. She loves kids and sniffs everyone while I hand out the candy. Autumn stays on the sofa and looks unhappy about this whole costume thing. She won't even wag her tail tonight. She's so French Foxy and just hates it. Poor baby. I hope that she doesn't run away over this!

Aeon

When I adopted Aeon, she drove the first 50 miles home.  Then she decided I might be able the handle it.  She took my Doritos and went to the back of the Durango where she ate them one at a time.

For the first week, she kept trying to get me to take her outside to her kennel.  The problem was she didn't have a kennel.  Now she sleeps wherever she wants, preferably our bed, if she doesn't have to share.

She had mites and allergies so bad when I adopted her that her entire underbelly was furless and licked so much that it had turned into leather.  Her teats almost drug the ground.  It took over a year before she ever looked normal.

You couldn't ask for a better dog though.  She sleeps most of the time, like a cat.  Seldom barks or jumps on you, and she was potty trained in no time.  You should see her clean her cat.  Now there is a sight.

maj, don't tell me about the flies. I was trying to ignore uncontrollable factors!! Damn.
I do pooper scooper as soon as I see her drop anything to the ground from her posterior. Yuck. I hate tapeworms. Got round worms myself in childhood in Brasil and felt invaded by aliens. Yuck.

You have your hands full. Such a love labor!

I'm probably telling Auntie how to steal eggs, but flies can carry tapeworm eggs from the stool and distribute them.

Keep us posted (no pun intended)
