Amen..what a powerful testimony here...and I hear :
"true wisdom listens to the voice of God, no matter where the message is coming from"
This is beautiful and jam packed with revelations and awareness, understanding and then slides on into a voice of wisdom...I take the pearls and join them into my strand...experience with God, alone and privately, intimately, has enriched and rewarded anything that life itself has thrown as obstacles to deter my whole purpose in life...which is to follow the voice of Love and the Divine.
I can relate to many things you experienced from your past... And Ariala, I can testify that I constantly try to put the past back into the past and continue placing gifted presents of present - newness and hope in front of me. This post left me thankful and for your voice here, just today, I give you my hand ----->
--- extend the Love you send~
This old Catholic gal whom finds denomination and religion stifling runs freely with the knowledge of what even the Cross represented to me. I read from the Bible to enrich my life from His word. ~Elyse of the fields

And in spite of it all ....
You tuned out great :) I had to pause at your mother calling you a slut - so sorry. They say children believe themselves to be what they hear over and over again growing up. I'm glad you knew better

shelly, accept what? My change? yes, she even came to church with
me a few times, but never followed the same teachings...still, she had a good heart and I know she prayed to God, through Jesus. I prayed with her before she died in her hospital bed and my prayer was that we accepted Christ in our hearts...
