Azur
You can be going through that and still write with such emotion?   I envy your powers of description. Azur.   Terse and beautiful.

azur, now I'm worried about the fellow's change, too.

Empathy can make you crazy, I know, cuz I am.

Cubicle, like icicle.

Well wishes and healings and goodness and light and fairy dust and butterfly kisses and gentle panda hugs.

That brings back some memories
The uncomfortable beds, the ebb and flow of patients coming and going, activity constantly swirling around you. Great piece!

Anyone who has never been in the hospital for any reason should read this, and they will have made their first visit.   Hospitals everywhere are pretty much alike aren't they.  Only the patients are different.  They all have their own unique problems and experiences.  I'm wishing you the very best.

This was so much like a similar experience I had
Great storytelling.  When I go through something like that, I often find myself wishing that I had a better memory, so I could give a detailed story like you give here.  You're a natural.

A natural who's obviously invested much time in honing her craft.

Omigosh Azur...
..I feel like I'm right there with you...from the narrow bed, to the sleeplessness to the awkwardness of holding a heavy book to the hollow noise and clutter all around you.  Hope you are able to get some sleep but I know how drugs interfere with that in such a major way.  I hope for you to become painfree and strong!!!!  And for some restorative sleep!
