katray, I read the same thing about

Alabama, one of if not the worst
ranked public education systems in the USA.
Governor wanted to pass some taxes
to help save the schools. Guess what
the people wanted?

I think it's narrow minded selfishness and stupidity

We have a very big financial crisis in our public school system in my town right now. Yet nobody seems willing to make even the smallest sacrifices to ease it. While screaming and groaning and placing blame, the loudest outcry is about raising property taxes or the sales tax. Fix it, but don't bill me is the message. How pathetic. Good post!

It's called greed

People get greedy. It's called human nature. As for the general stupidity of Americans, well all I can say is baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhh! Soon we'll be like lemmings, hurtling ourselves over the cliffs.
