Your take on education, your dedication to the kids

never fails to impress me, and give me hope!

I hope your tumble effects are all better? Head in the bookcase?  At least it's apt...

I would agree that kids do need some 'enrichment time' each day

Angesom_AG, yes. My problem is a) I have a lot of current research, and b) I tend to use the lingo which researchers use. I get a lot of blank stares.

Yep, you gotta say what needs to be said, otherwise, the status quo
continues and that may not be a good thang

I concur. I spent many years as an administrator in the public schools. I had four separate locations for at risk youth. Three of the sites had plenty of freedom and one (a court placed program) was more rigid. The students in the less controlled atmosphere flourished whereas the rigid group only met prescribed expectations. I read one time that if Benjamin Franklin were to come back today the only place he would be comfortable is the public school system. It just hasn't changed all that much. A pitiful awakening. I applaud you for your stand, someone has to speak up. sam
