The Chinese shot down a satellite over a year ago and no negative effects! NASA could have out-sourced the project ala the rest of America's technology (I still can't believe my Mac is made in China)!

Personally, I think the whole thing has been made up by helmet manufacturers! I see a lot of people wearing them in the street (helmets, not manufacturers), but I'm not going to bother...

Remember those Skylab detection helmets -- some guy made those out west -- they had a little antenna on them and would give the wearer something like .0000000000020 of a second's warning that Skylab was about to make a direct hit...

I heard the story in the background as I was dressing .........it's going to cost 60+million bucks!! Pretty expensive target practice! I think they're concerned it could cause some kind of pollutants if it burns up before it hits a certain area or something.....of course, I could be blending my news stories there....I wasn't paying
that close attention!
