Ravenmarie,
That sounds like one hell of an intense project for a 7th grader! Wow. Thanks for reading and the great comments!

Love the name
Hey I love the name Spitfire.  My seventh grade teacher nick named me that when I was working on a school history book project.  I was one hell of an editor amongst other things.  I was involved in the sales distribution part of the project as well.  When a teacher from another school called and tried to bully me into free copies of the book, I politely told him off.  My teacher over heard me and said what a Spitfire.  The name stuck.  So from one Spitfire to another you have every right to be called or not to be called what ever you wish.

Re: Food4T,
Thanks for the comments. Yeah, I don't mind the nicknames but it's what it came out as..."SPIT" which is just kinda, well, if someone's Blogit handle was like Buttons and someone kept calling him BUTT.

Spitfire...
I occasionally use a nickname on a comment, but I would respect any request not to, or to use something different.  Keep up the good work!

Re: FreeMan,
Yeah, FreeMan, like there's no drama here already!  But, I think it could use a bit less, IMO.

Re: shelly,
LOL!!!    The thing that sucks is I kinda liked this bloggers' stuff. I may still read and comment and see what happens. Maybe it will just work itself out with time. Or not.

Spitfire - I wouldn't worry any. This is the last place we need any drama
in our lives.

No, spitfire, the mature thing to do is this...

block that blogger who is calling you that, and then conitue to write nasty posts and comments about that person.  That will show them.

For those that don't know I was being sarcastic...Spitfire, you did the right thing!

Re: Thank you, Sir Strat,
I do hope he considers heeding his own advice. Quite rude and very un-Christian of him. (He is quite the Christian-Right-Doer according to his profile.) Hmmmm... I wonder if it's cause I'm a, oh, ya know, something beginning with a big W?

I remember those posts and your requests, Young Miss.

I was wondering about that one at the time myself. Quite frankly, your requests were polite, reasonable, and clearly explained.

Gee, what can I say...you were handling it like a, what do they call it, a grown up?

So first, if someone continues with it, then they either are not reading comments or they're playing a silly game, neither of which you really need.

And I might add to the other source, heed your own advice, Jack.

Re: Hey tigerprincess!
Nice to "see" you! I hope I didn't embarrass this blogger. I thought after sending a private email, it would avoid any problems. I guess not?

Re: Sam,
I agree. I mean, some also call me Spiffy and a few other nicknames played off of Spitfire, but it's the "spit" part that is offensive. And I did ask the blogger nicely several times to please not call me that. Oh well. As far as the lovely newbie commenter on this post, well, I guess, I should just consider the source. However, I don't even know the source cause he's so new! Great way to start relations, huh?

I wouldn't take it too personally. You were nice in your email. She's probably just embarassed. I know I would be.

You are right to request being addressed properly. If you wanted to be addressed as 'Spit', you would have left 'Fire' off. As for the comment of you need to grow up, well that blogger is insensitive; I also find it rather harsh and unfeeling especially from one who is professing to be a Christian. Her remark is truly uncalled for. It is sad when someone just stops reading over such a minor request. sam

Re: Vairocana,
Wow. You're certainly off to a great, welcoming start here in our "neighborhood," aren't you? You're right. I need to grow up. I need to mature. I'm truly a child. I'm hanging my head so low. Thanks for the much needed scolding.

Grow Up
Truly mature people are not offended by nicknames or even being called something like "idiot", "asshole", or whatever.  You need to grow up.

A smile from me and from BO! =^. .^=
