As you can see here, our government has the matter under control (LOL), "Various government agencies are planning for the reentry of the satellite. In the event the engagement is not successful, all appropriate elements of the U.S. Government are working together to explore options to mitigate the danger to humans and to ensure that all parties are properly prepared to respond."   And, just when are they going to tell us of our options and how to respond?

wondering the same things
I wonder about that also? exactly what does it mean? Does it mean our galaxy would have toxic stuff floating around? Or our atmosphere? And what if they don't successfully hit the target? Lots of questions.

It would be nice, wouldn't it? LOL

so wait, if they are going to blow this thing up in space, does that mean that our galaxy will be full of this toxic stuff? Sarcastic smile

That doesn't sound too reassuring either.
