Yeah, jollyjeff, using polls as predictive formulae can be problematic.
I agree with Tubin on this one.  Even suggesting that Obama is going to hold that popularity and groundswell support through a GOP and "non-affiliated" (how's that for plausible deniability) onslaught against him, his life, his career, and his character would be ludicrous.  Obama may still win, but he's going to take some massive hits before Election Day...

I've seen polls
that give Obama a much larger theoretical win over McCain. Polls tend to flucuate anyway and these "what if" polls even more so

I think its all a bit sad, sam, but I think it makes the popular vote more

I like the continued strength Obama is gaining and the fact that H. Clinton trails makes me smile.  sam
