since I too am on the phone all day talking to people from all over 15 states, I find the state with the strongest southern accent is North Carolina, and you too from Ohio have a definite accent, Florida may be the mildest of all.

Regional accents.
I think I would enjoy listening to Strat talk, he's a character! I love an English accent regardless of my slandering how they talk, just to write a funny blog. Of course we midwesterners speak with no accent, at all. It sounds like you don't hate going to work each day, just like me. We are blessed, if I can say that, being religion and superstition free. I have never been always happy in any employment in my whole life, before my present position and I have had DOZENS of jobs, over my lifetime. I wish you happiness for your whole life too.

My Aunt and Uncle lived in NY for most of their lives..
they had a strong NY accent. I remember as a kid when they would come visit or talking to them on the phone, I would have a hard time trying to not to laugh at them.

It's great that you're enjoying your work, not so great that you're not around Blogitville much these days, but of course we understand. The different accents can be fun, and also difficult at times. But, as Troosha quite rightly observed, Canadians don't have an accent, they just say 'eh' a lot - but you knew that anyway, eh?

I get the same "perk" with my job....talking to folks from all over. A problem I have is that I am somewhat like a sponge, having moved around quite a bit. I never get a Yankee clip, but my drawl goes from East Texas southern to just a mild Midwestern mix with a lot of y'alls thrown in.....to say I've a confused tongue is putting it mildly! Glad you're enjoying your new job and sounds like you're takin' to it like a duck to water. We just went back on 7 day weeks, 7-7, so I'll have even less time than I've had and I know well how you feel about missin' folks on here.....it's a bummer....but the money comes in handy!

Americans often say that we Canadians have an accent but it's not us that has the accent - it's you (and so many different variations as you have described in this post!)
