then I tell my boyfriend, who is a gentleman and puts a stop to it.

Be Careful
It could be trouble, though it is flattering.  It is nice when a person of the opposite sex notices you, but the fact these are your bf friends I would be careful.

It's partly compliment, partly biology and proximity.
And "middle-aged" to you may be "I've still got it" to them.
