Thank you all so much, for appreciating and responding to "Heartbeat" as much as you have.
It's wonderful to know that you are touched by what I write. It inspires me to keep writing on here :)
'Heartbeat' was inspired by a recollection of experiences a dear friend of mine shared with me during a time of great pain, anguish and anger as he experienced great physical torment at the hands of, dare I say a 'bully'. He will remain anonymous, but he knows that this poem was indeed inspired by him and is dedicated to him.

For a minute there, I thought Muhammad Ali(the boxer) was up to his tricks again pummeling people! Getting up and fighting back is what I espouse. I see you choose to forgive. I reason that pearls before swine is meaningless and only God can unwrite karma! Great read!!!!!
