You could say it's all politics instead, robdon. This makes marketing
sound a little better...

Get off the web site. Everyone lies online.
You're more likely to find a compatible friend or girlfriend at some activity you enjoy -- sign up for a class or a group tour or volunteer somewhere worthy of your time and attention. Do it for its own sake and because you're interested. Meanwhile, keep thinking about the kind of partner who'd work best with you. If you find someone so much the better. If you don't, you're involved in fulfilling endeavors and you won't be lonely.

It's like the American comic and actor Steve Martin's spoof of King Tut. The mummy was on tour, being sold. In other words, everyone and everything's marketed. You have to find somebody who you can be yourself with. Thanks for sharing.

I've thought about this many times.
No matter what, we're always selling a product, even we ourselves are the product. We try to make ourselves marketable for the consumer here on Blogit. Prostitute our own horn, if you will, with lists of what we like and dislike, so the reader can contrast and compare. "I like this blogger, because they're cuckoo for Cocoa Puffs - like me."
The politics of being a people. I'm trying to win your vote. Are you buying? I sold my soul and all I got was this T-shirt. Get some sleep, man, you're depressing me. ;-)

Hope you get some good sleep soon, Rob. I haven't been sleeping all that well myself lately so I know what you're going through.
Take care. I'll email you later.

I say don't let one bad apple spoil the bushel. There are women out there looking for a man like you. The problem with packaging is the same with a book, don't judge prematurely. sam
