Where I live RN's have not worn hats in at least 15 yrs!! even the seasoned RN's have gotten lazy and do not wear them. When I was nursing there were a select few that wore them, and the ones that did were OLD NURSES

As an RN. myself my pet hate is when nurses are degraded by people
dressing for a parade etc in nurses uniform as sexy attire. Y'know, short, suspenders etc.

I am a nurse, but I like to wear the latest cut pants and tops, is your
wife going to have an issue.....I might wear a wide leg pants or different style.....some nurses wear their cap......that's their style....some like traditional.... some nurses like me love sporty look.. or very sophisticated style depends the mood... just because your wifey has an attitude, we all don't have to go with it... people have their own style...
speaker, also I have a broker/ realtor license, I might wear very pretty casual look or may be even wear a jeans and shirt....depends the client whom I am with....
I am going to graduate as a software engineer in future, I still will look different than others...
I am a typical gemini woman dress all kind of fashions....which is decent and acceptable... I might stylishly wear an American dress one day, and might wear a pretty Indian skirt another day... Is that going to be a trouble to your wifey.....
please tell mrs. to look others with an open eye, being a nurse, doctor, lawyer or engineer or hair stylist don' make much difference... 'but the way the people think and act is the most important thing....
look and style is for comfort, confidence and freedom of each individual....

Some people just don't care! While I was a Teacher, I knew of teachers who were having sex with students! Nobody chastized them!

I agree
That we should all respect one another's differences, however this does not mean we should change our own ways, therefore disrespecting our selves.
