No apology needed. It was an interesting read. Warren Jeffs was but one of hundreds of cults...not Mormons, but Cults who practice polygamy in the U.S. Canada, and Mexico. And there are hundreds of others who claim Mormonism, the one true Mormonism and practice polygamy but who are not recognized by the LDS church. AND there are polygamist who infiltrate the Mormon church and hide the fact that they are Polygamists

Re: MRYN
Point taken.  Actually, I was aware that mainstream Mormonism did not practice polygamy, though it once did, but I was also aware that there still is at least one Mormon cult that still does--the head of said cult was arrested within the last year for precisely that charge (Warren Jeffs).  So, apologies for not making that distinction in the essay.

I enjoyed your blog however I must correct you in that 'Mormonism' does not accept the practice of Polygamy. In the 1800's it did, but active Mormons have not practiced in many, many years. It is the off shoot groups who believe in the Bible and Joseph Smiths words that he supposedly received from God to continue the practice as in the Bible. Mormonism is not tolerated in in Mormon Church...although Polygamy does exist more rampantly than anyone could surmise...nothing to do with Mormonism.
